It's well known that the Cartier Tank is one of the most iconic watch designs of all time, but the brand and jewelry giant Cartier have also produced some eclectic references that are just as interesting and in many cases much rarer than the classic Tank.
The Cartier Vendome is one of these watches from the Maison. The vintage watch was introduced along with the Cristallor, Gondole and Ellipse in the “Louis Cartier Collection” that Cartier launched in 1973. Although the Vendome shares the stepped case aesthetic of its brothers, its round shape and size make it a unique interpretation of the Cartier formula, resulting in a watch that has a surprising presence on the wrist that is nothing short of stylish.
CASE & BRACELET
The 18-carat unpolished yellow gold 33mmcase is in exceptionally well-preserved condition overall and shows only minor signs of wear. The watch has the original blue sapphire cabochon crown. The caseback retains all factory engravings and trademarks in clear and clean condition. The watch comes with a black leather strap and an 18k yellow gold pin buckle. Very rare iteration for Brazilian market with backwards serial number and Brazilian hall marks in case back and buckle!
DIAL AND HANDS
The original white enamel dial marked “Paris” is in excellent vintage condition. The original blue hands are in excellent condition.
How it wears
The watch can be dressed casually and formly. The super thin case makes it an elegant dayli wearer and a quirky conversation starter at the same time! The 33mm case wears totally modern and contemporary.
