The Cartier Santos Dumont is an iconic and historically significant watch from the early 20th century. It was named after Alberto Santos-Dumont, a Brazilian aviation pioneer who was a close friend of Louis Cartier, the founder of Cartier.
This particular example is the rare and highly desirable Deux Ors version (Yellow and white gold) Ref. 96062 with a factory Paris dial. Deux Ors watches were produced in super low quantities. That´s a watch you will not come across very soon again!
CASE & BRACELET
The 23x30 mm case, in perfect unpolished condition, itself is made of very well-preserved brushed 18 carat yellow gold, while a polished 18 carat white gold bezel is layered on top. The caseback retains all factory engravings and trademarks in clear and unpolished clean condition. The watch comes with the custom fitted caramel leather strap as well as the original Cartier pin buckle.
DIAL AND HANDS
The dial of the Santos-Dumont vintage watch features an original enameled white dial with a factory Paris stamp at 6 o´clock. In addition, the hands are made of blued steel and complement the crown, which is set with a blue sapphire cabochon.
